These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of OttaMoney, Inc.'s ("OttaMoney") personal finance application, website, and related services (collectively, "Services"). By creating an account or using our Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
To use our Services, you must be at least 18 years old, a US resident, and capable of entering into legally binding contracts. Our Services are for personal, non-commercial use only.
You must create an account to use most features of OttaMoney. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to keep it updated. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use at hello@ottamoney.org.
OttaMoney offers free and paid subscription plans. Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. You authorize us to charge the payment method on file for the applicable subscription fee. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled before the renewal date. You can cancel at any time through the app settings, effective at the end of the current billing period. We do not provide refunds for partial subscription periods.
OttaMoney provides personal finance management tools and accesses your financial account data with your authorization. By connecting a financial account, you authorize OttaMoney to access transaction history and account balance data for the purpose of providing the Services. We access this data read-only and do not initiate transactions on your behalf unless you have explicitly enabled a specific feature that requires it.
Important: OttaMoney is a financial management tool, not a financial institution, investment advisor, or broker-dealer. Nothing in our Services constitutes financial, tax, legal, or investment advice. All financial decisions are your own responsibility. You should consult qualified financial, tax, or legal professionals for advice specific to your situation.
You agree to use our Services only for lawful personal finance management purposes. You shall not: share your account with others; access other users' accounts; reverse engineer our app or algorithms; use automated tools to scrape data from our platform; or use our Services to engage in any illegal activity.
OttaMoney and its licensors own all intellectual property rights in the Services, including software, algorithms, content, designs, and trademarks. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Services for personal, non-commercial purposes during the term of your subscription.
Our Privacy Policy describes how we collect and use your information and is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using our Services, you consent to the data practices described in the Privacy Policy.
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. OTTAMONEY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT FINANCIAL DATA WILL ALWAYS BE CURRENT OR ACCURATE.
FINANCIAL INFORMATION PROVIDED BY OTTAMONEY IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY AND IS NOT FINANCIAL ADVICE. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR FINANCIAL DECISIONS YOU MAKE BASED ON INFORMATION PROVIDED THROUGH OUR SERVICES.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OTTAMONEY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE FEES PAID BY YOU IN THE PRECEDING 12 MONTHS OR $50.
You may terminate your account at any time through the app. We may suspend or terminate your access for violation of these Terms, non-payment, or at our discretion with reasonable notice. Upon termination, your license to use the Services ends immediately.
These Terms are governed by California law without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in San Francisco, California, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in court for intellectual property or confidentiality violations.

Our financial insights and recommendations are generated by automated algorithms and do not constitute personalized financial advice from a licensed financial advisor. While we strive for accuracy, the financial information displayed in OttaMoney is derived from your connected accounts and may not always reflect the most current state of your accounts due to delays in data updates from financial institutions.
If you believe that information displayed in OttaMoney is inaccurate, you should verify it directly with your financial institution. OttaMoney is not responsible for errors in account data that originate from your financial institutions or from your data aggregation connections.
For disputes related to your OttaMoney subscription or billing, contact us at hello@ottamoney.org. We will investigate all billing disputes within 30 days and provide a written response. If we determine that a billing error occurred, we will issue a refund or credit as appropriate.
If you download OttaMoney from the Apple App Store, your use is also subject to Apple's Terms of Service. Apple is not a party to these Terms and has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for OttaMoney. In the event of any conflict between these Terms and Apple's App Store terms, these Terms will govern to the extent of any conflict that does not involve Apple's platform-specific requirements.
If you download OttaMoney from Google Play, your use is also subject to Google Play's Terms of Service. Similarly, Google is not a party to these Terms. In-app purchases made through either platform are subject to that platform's purchase and refund policies in addition to our own.
We reserve the right to update OttaMoney through app store updates. Some updates may be required for continued use of the Services as we deprecate older versions to maintain security and functionality standards. We will provide reasonable notice before deprecating a version that you are actively using.
OttaMoney is committed to making our Services accessible to people with disabilities. We strive to comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA for our web interface. Our mobile apps are designed to support the accessibility features of iOS and Android, including screen readers, dynamic text sizing, and high contrast modes.
If you encounter accessibility barriers while using our Services, please contact us at hello@ottamoney.org. We will work to address accessibility issues and provide alternative means of accessing our Services as needed. Accessibility is not just a legal requirement for us -- it is a core part of our mission to make financial wellness tools available to everyone.
OttaMoney accesses your financial account data in read-only mode through authorized connections. We do not initiate transactions, payments, or transfers from your accounts unless you have explicitly enabled a specific feature (such as automated savings transfers) that requires write access, and even then only for the specific purpose you have authorized.
OttaMoney is not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of data provided by your financial institutions through our data aggregation partners. Financial institutions may experience delays in reporting transactions, may not provide real-time balance information, or may present data in formats that affect how it is categorized in OttaMoney. We make reasonable efforts to ensure the accuracy of data presented in the app, but we cannot guarantee it matches the real-time state of your financial accounts at every moment.
You should always verify important financial information directly with your financial institutions before making financial decisions. Do not rely solely on OttaMoney data for time-sensitive financial actions such as determining whether you have sufficient funds for a payment, whether a transaction has cleared, or what your current outstanding balance is on a credit account.
From time to time, OttaMoney may offer beta features or early access programs that allow users to test new functionality before it is generally available. Beta features are offered "as is" and may be incomplete, unstable, or subject to change or discontinuation at any time without notice. By using a beta feature, you acknowledge that it may not function as expected and agree not to rely on it for important financial decisions.
Feedback you provide about beta features may be used by OttaMoney to improve those features without compensation or attribution to you. Your participation in beta programs is voluntary, and you can opt out of any beta program through the app settings. Opting out of a beta feature will not affect your access to generally available features of OttaMoney.
OttaMoney provides customer support through in-app chat, email at hello@ottamoney.org, and for Premium subscribers, phone support during business hours (Monday-Friday, 9 AM - 6 PM Pacific Time). We aim to respond to support inquiries within one business day for email requests and within a few hours for in-app chat during business hours.
We do not guarantee specific response times or service levels and are not liable for any harm resulting from delays in customer support responses. Premium subscribers who have purchased our "financial advisor access" feature may schedule consultations with certified financial planners through our partner network; these consultations are subject to the availability of our advisor partners and do not constitute a guarantee of same-day or next-day access.
We maintain comprehensive documentation of all changes to these Terms, including the specific changes made in each version and the effective date of each change. If you would like to review the history of changes to these Terms, you may request this information by contacting us at hello@ottamoney.org. We believe transparency about how our Terms have evolved over time is an important part of building trust with our users, and we are committed to making our policy history available upon request.
These Terms were last substantially revised in January 2025 when we added clarifications regarding our beta feature program, customer support service levels, and financial account data liability provisions. If you accepted a prior version of these Terms, please review these updated provisions carefully as they may affect your rights and obligations.
